Let's dive right in and talk about these pro organizers, okay?

Professional organizers are just like any other service providers for your home. We're the handy(wo)men of organization, here to fix up your space and create specific systems using our organization tools. Now, since this industry is still pretty new, there's a wide range of experience, rates, and organizing methods out there. But the bottom line is that all professional organizers are here to bring structure to your home.

Speaking of which, when I started my own home organizing company, Organize For Love, a client called me a "home therapist," and I just ran with it! So now, I'm your home therapist, empowering and teaching you all about organization while helping you uncover all the clutter—both physical and mental—in your life. Think of me as your practical, loving, safe, and totally digestible guru of home organization. 😌

With that said,

Heyy I'm Rebekah Love, your home therapist

Now that we've got the basics covered, let's talk about what home organization actually is. In a nutshell, it's all about the systems that contain, manage, and keep your things in check. It's the solutions that prevent or reduce clutter. But here's the thing: having an organized home doesn't mean your life or home is perfect. It just means you're more present and physical clutter isn't one of your problems.

Home organization is like the foundation of being able to stay organized, no matter how hard life gets. Trust me on this one, even the toughest seasons can become more manageable when you have an organized space. It's the ability to say, "Life is hard right now, but at least I know where my keys and wallet are." It's being prepared for whatever life throws your way, like being able to make a nice meal for yourself even when you don't know what's next. It's giving yourself peace and foolproofing your sanity during those in-between phases. Home organization is a game-changer, my friend.

An organized home doesn’t mean you have no problems in it. It just means physical clutter isn’t one of them!

Home organization means physical clutter isn’t a problem. A clutter free home is the difference between navigating a hard season with no additional chaos cause the systems built at home are at least maintaining a baseline for your household. It’s the foundation of being able to be organized even when you’re having a tough time. You’re not gonna believe me, but even the hardest seasons can be more manageable with an organized space.

Home organization is the ability to say things like life is hard, but at least I know where my keys and wallet are.

Home organization is being prepared when life is life-ing, and the ability to say, I don’t know what’s next for me, but at least make this nice meal for myself.

Home organization is giving yourself peace for now AND fool proofing your sanity for when you’re in an in between phase.

Let me share a real-life example from my own personal experience. In 2021, I was pregnant and going through the postpartum journey. And let me tell you, amid all the stress of postpartum psychosis, going back to work, family issues, and pumping (yea, all the fun stuff), having a clutter-free and organized home was a massive weight off my shoulders. It wasn't perfect all the time, but having that baseline of organization brought so much peace, serenity, and calmness to our lives. As I got acclimated to parenthood, this fact was undeniable.

Even a good friend of mine noticed it and said, "I forget that you guys worked for this!". She was like, I have to remember that y'all been working on your home and that’s why it looks and feels this way. It was a reminder that our organized and peaceful home didn't just happen overnight. I was grateful for the recognition because the work we put in paid off—especially during such a challenging time.

“You know I forget that ya’ll worked for this. I have to remember that ya’ll been working on your home and that’s why it looks and feels this way”

So, these are some specific things I did to keep our home running smoothly after I gave birth:

  • Storage bags were kept in one drawer for easy access.

  • I created a system for storing milk, making the whole pumping process a breeze.

  • I had a portable pumping bag, so I could pump anywhere in the house.

  • I kept things simple by storing items where I was most likely to use them. For example, I kept water where I usually sat to feed the baby.

  • I prepped the nursery by unboxing things, recycling what we didn't need, and making sure everything had a designated place.

  • I organized items by category, like keeping washcloths, wipes, and swaddles together.

As well as other things that was able to happen:

  • The ability to labor at home for hours in a peaceful and clean space before heading to the hospital

  • The ability to receive help the first few days due to household items being easily found

  • Having a bedroom to retreat to for rest

These examples are based on four organizing principles that I live by, and I can't wait to share more of my wisdom with you. That's why I always strive to create learning environments that are loving and safe. And guess what? I have an exciting opportunity for you to take your home organization journey to the next level!
